A Trinity man was apprehended in connection with the theft of half a million dollars worth of copper and equipment from a local business.
The Trinity Police Department arrested Jerrel Ables, an employee of the business, on April 12 and is being charged with eight counts of theft.
The arrest follows extensive investigative efforts by law enforcement that started in November of 2023, when the business reported the theft.
Trinity Police Chief Michael Hughessay stated that another arrest may be likely.
Authorities have not disclosed specific details regarding which business or the amount of stolen copper and equipment.
Ables was released from the Morgan County Jail after posting a $40,000 bond.
