A DeKalb County man has been convicted on multiple charges in connection with a 2020 crash that left two people dead.

A jury on Thursday found William Keith Seay guilty of two counts of manslaughter as well as single counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, DeKalb County District Attorney Summer McWhorter Summerford announced Friday. The trial began Monday.

On April 10, 2020, Seay was driving northbound on Alabama 75 about a mile south of Fyffe when he veered into the southbound lane. Testimony showed he sideswiped one vehicle and crashed into another head-on.

Robin Anderson and Hannah Moon were killed in the head-on crash.

While still at the scene, law enforcement uncovered a controlled substance in Seay’s pants pocket. Further testing performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences revealed that the same substance uncovered in Seay’s pocket was also present in his blood at the time of the crash, as well as two other substances.

Seay will be sentenced April 3.
